Welcome to seaQuest chronicles. This started out as a paper zine but has been on the web for a few years now. I have been a seaQuest fan since I first heard that the show was going into production. I thought it had the potential to be one of the greatest shows of all time. SeaQuest ended up being three distinctly different shows, sadly none of them really came close to the potential that fans had hoped for. But we still became devoted to it.
The world of seaQuest is still alive in the minds and the hearts of fans and we continue to write new adventures for the seaQuest and her crew. We want to explore the undersea world that we were given a taste of in the show and learn more about the characters we met through the show. Most of the stories at this site are set in the second season. The reason is that I liked those characters the most and I liked the Florida location. I get tired of everything being so West Coast-centric on TV. The Atlantic is a perfectly good ocean too. I do think that the stories that the second season produced were for the most part garbage and should be ignored but the characters and the setting were still good. I also found the beefcake/cheezecake look to be insulting but that was a network rule. The idea that no one but Bridger could be over 35 hurt the show but is more in keeping with submarines of today. However, one would hope that since the single gender bias was done away with on seaQuest that age bias would have also been outlawed. The loss of the character of Dr Westphalen was probably the first of many nails in the seaQuest coffin.
I really have tried to ignore the third season. Only three or four of the episodes ever aired in my local market. Rerunning local high school sports from the previous Friday night got the local NBC station better ratings -- the show was so bad by that time. I tried to watch them when they came on the SciFi channel but I really couldn't. Whatever they were - they were NOT seaQuest. Still the cliffhanger ending of the second season and the few things that I do know about the third season continued to bug me until I could no longer pretend that none of it happened. I had to try and fix that mess. To that end I am now devoting the Moon Pool stop on the Maglev to alternate universes (alternate from the rest of the site which is an alternate universe of the actual show -- confused yet?)
The main focus of this site will remain the second season universe but a few first and third season stories will now appear on select pages. Hope you enjoy your visit!
